“The breath is the bridge between the mind and body”.
Conscious Breathing can allow us to positively influence the nervous, digestive and cardiovascular systems.
Long, slow, deep, regular breathing through the nose can calm and balance the bodily systems in an instant or any circumstance.
Training our inhalations and exhalations to become more active with the later addition of breath holds, can safely stress the body and help us learn to be more comfortable with discomfort. Self-regulation practices such as these have become an essential skill as we are faced with unpleasant feelings or situations in this complex changing world.
In 2020 I furthered my training as a Breathwork Facilitator to assist my own health issue and oxygen carrying capacity however the Conscious Breathing sessions have helped reduce anxiety, calm an overstimulated nervous system creating more peace and joy for many of my clients.
‘Space to Breathe’, is a program I designed for my Acupuncture clients who were chest or fast breathers and also suffered from pain and inflammation. This customisable system of Self-regulatory practices is for those individuals who wish to take their wellbeing to the next level. Conscious breathing is the fastest way to retrain our nervous system. It is the key to self-control and making the most of the pillars of health – good quality sleep, blood circulation and immune function.
By connecting Breathwork, Sound Meditation and Shiatsu Acupressure the nervous system response can be regulated and Qi/Ki circulation increased to vital organs, glands and tissues. Rejuvenation, repair and pain reduction are the results enjoyed, to differing degrees by many people who have experienced a conscious breathing session.
‘Diane’s online breathwork sessions have helped with my dysfunctional breathing pattern. My normal shallow breathing meant that I was not receiving the oxygen advantage of a deeper, slower, smoother pattern. I learnt within one session how to feel calmer and more energised through the day. My next session is to re-set my nervous system with guided meditation and Self-acupressure which I can’t wait to try’.
